Description:
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-2 class S-1-A 2825 at La Crosse, Wisconsin on April 29, 1936, photographer unknown, print by Tom Klinger, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 2825 was built by Baldwin as a class S-1 in 1906 (c/n 29884) was rebuilt by the CB&Q in 1929 to a class S-1-A, and was sold for scrap in March 1954. There's water gushing over the back of the tender, and a gentleman loading coal, so my guess is that they're getting ready to go somewhere.
